    An extraordinary piece of art history: executed by master printer Charles Sorlier at Atelier Mourlot, Paris for the 1967 "Hommage à Chagall" exhibition at Galerie de la Marine in Nice. This particular sheet features an invaluable hand-inked dedication and full signature by Marc Chagall: "Pour Monsieur Drapeau / Marc Chagall / 1971 / St. Paul", gifted directly to Jean Drapeau, the visionary long-serving Mayor of Montreal.

    Condition: Very good original vintage condition with striking, vibrant vermilion red inks. Features a small clean tear at the top paper margin edge near the letter "E" in "NICE" (strictly confined to the outer blank border and completely outside the main image area; can be easily restored/repaired if desired).

    Signature & Dedication: Inscribed and signed in ink by the artist: "Pour Monsieur Drapeau / Marc Chagall / 1971 / St. Paul".

    Provenance: Formerly in the personal collection of Jean Drapeau (1916–1999), the historic Mayor of Montreal who transformed the city into a global cultural center (initiating Expo 67 and the 1976 Summer Olympics). Gifted to him by Marc Chagall in 1971 while Chagall resided in Saint-Paul-de-Vence.

    The Red Siren / La Baie des Anges  (Sorlier No. 40) interprets Chagall's iconic siren hovering over a bouquet of flowers along the Bay of Angels (La Baie des Anges) in Nice. A museum-grade centerpiece pairing classic Mourlot printing prowess with documented political and cultural provenance.
