• Original lithograph (18 colors) on Arches paper • Edition of 250 • Size: 17 1/2 x 13 in (44.5 x 33 cm) • Printer: Mourlot, Paris • Plate signed • Reference: Mourlot 279, Bloch 794 • Condition: 4" tear at upper left. Minor edgewear including small losses and corner creasing. Toning. The book is disbound. A water stain is present (see photos), but it remains subtle and does not significantly affect the overall appearance of the image.
One of the most desirable of all the original lithographs done by Picasso.
The same lithograph was sold at Bonhams for £14,000 (16 December 2021, Lot 28).
Lithograph in 18 colours, on Arches paper, the full sheet. From the plate signed edition of 250 first produced in 1956 as a frontispiece for the book Dans l'atelier de Picasso, this impression used as the cover of the volume Ces Peintres Nos Amis Vol. II, with the colours reworked by the artist, printed and published in 1960 by Mourlot, Paris, unframed.
