Pierre Soulages Hand-Pulled Original Extra Rare Lithograph "Lithographie n°28" (1970)
This original hand-pulled lithograph by Pierre Soulages is a striking example of his mastery of form and contrast. Created in 1970 and printed by the renowned Mourlot Studio in Paris, it was published as part of a limited edition of 3,000 copies for XXe Siècle, San Lazzaro. Unsigned and unframed, it preserves the raw essence of Soulages’ vision.
Known as the “painter of black,” Soulages saw black not just as a color but as a source of light. This lithograph embodies that philosophy, with bold, deep blacks creating a powerful interplay of shadow and illumination. A rare and meaningful piece for collectors and admirers of abstract expressionism.
