Deeply inspired by the revolutionary CoBrA movement — particularly the raw, emotional aesthetics of Asger Jorn and Karel Appel — the Swedish painter, printmaker, and sculptor forged a highly distinctive creative path. His hallmark style is instantly recognizable by its distorted, primitive figures, heavy impasto, and a fiery palette dominated by vibrant primary colors. Lindström’s arresting imagery frequently draws from the wellspring of Nordic folklore, channeling shamanic masks, ancient deities, and mythological creatures into modern masterpieces.

Renowned for his tactile, almost sculptural application of paint, Lindström’s kinetic energy is immortalized in landmark canvases such as Le maitre et Marguerite (1963) and Passion (1988). As a master printmaker, he seamlessly translated this raw intensity into graphic arts, creating highly sought-after etches and original lithographs like Komposition (1976). Beyond canvas and paper, Lindström’s multi-faceted genius extended to studio ceramics, fine jewelry, art glass, and papier-mâché sculptures. His profound cultural impact is cemented by monumental public art installations throughout Sweden, including his iconic, giant 5x5 meter mural for the Västerås Science Institute and the landmark "Y" monument towering near Midlanda Airport.
