The image was originally created for publication in the rare 1938 Christmas edition of the famed art publication XXe Siecle, though this copy is a later printing, when the carved linoleum was used to reissue the image in the 1959 edition of the same publication.
Provenance: The Gallery of Matica Srpska (Serbian: Galerija Matice Srpske, Serbian Cyrillic: Галерија Матице Српске) - is one of the largest and oldest galleries in Serbia. It is located in the central zone of Novi Sad.
